Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one go without having to swap out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its course automatically and clean them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. In addition, the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to access low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list however it's not excessively heavy. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
