Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. automated vacuum cleaner and smart navigation tech are excellent too as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. robot vacuums cheap is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
